102 families in Indramayu finally get solar power
Baznas’s Rumah Terang program was installed in three villages after residents lived without electricity for more than two decades.
A total of 102 families in Kampung Grabyag, Pasir Torog, and Cagak Dua, Desa Cikawung, Kecamatan Terisi, Kabupaten Indramayu, West Java, experienced electric lighting from solar panels for the first time on Thursday (9/7/2026). The Baznas Rumah Terang program installed one package for each home, containing a solar panel, five lamps, a battery, and wiring. Residents in the Perhutani land area had relied on kerosene lamps for more than 20 years. Baznas RI chairman Sodik Mujahid said the program is intended to help children study at night and support family economic activities. Baznas is running the program with Limar, a lighting innovation initiated by Ujang Koswara for areas not yet reached by the power grid.
