A U.S. airstrike in northwest Syria on June 19 killed a senior ISIS leader, U.S. Central Command said Wednesday. The military identified the militant as Ali Husayn al-‘Ulaywi and described the operation as a precision strike. CENTCOM said the attack was part of an ongoing campaign to disrupt and eliminate ISIS figures it says are plotting attacks against Americans overseas or in the United States. The command also said U.S. forces are continuing to work with regional partners in Syria as Washington keeps up counterterrorism operations there.
