World Humanoid Robot Games 2026 opens in Beijing
The Aug. 22-26 event features 2,056 robots competing in athletics, soccer, table tennis and work-simulation tasks.
The World Humanoid Robot Games (WHRG) 2026 opened at the National Speed Skating Oval in Beijing, China, on Saturday (22/8). Hundreds of humanoid robots appeared at the opening of the event, which runs through Aug. 26. A total of 2,056 robots are competing in sports such as athletics, soccer and table tennis. Organizers also staged scenario-based competitions, including assembling power tools, opening packaging boxes, connecting cables and other skills. The event showcases humanoid robots' abilities not only for competition, but also for practical tasks.
