Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will travel to Bangkok on Sept. 2 for his first leaders' retreat with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, the highest-level bilateral platform between the two countries. The one-day meeting will cover defense and economic ties, regional developments, and potential cooperation in the green and digital economies, energy resilience, food security and efforts against transnational crime. The leaders are also set to witness an agreement between Singapore's Ministry of Social and Family Development and Thailand's Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. Bilateral trade reached S$52.4 billion in 2025, up 17.8% from a year earlier, while Singapore was Thailand's largest source of foreign direct investment at US$17.57 billion.
