West Java includes officials’ spouses in KPK anti-graft training
New: the Cimahi training targets echelon II officials and their spouses, focusing on curbing gratuities and lifestyle pressures.
The West Java provincial government is working with the Corruption Eradication Commission to provide Integrity Family Technical Guidance for echelon II officials and their spouses. The program, held at the West Java BPSDM in Cimahi, aims to strengthen anti-corruption efforts starting from officials’ households. West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan said financial pressure and lifestyle demands at home often push officials to accept gratuities or fall into corruption. KPK Deputy Chairman Ibnu Basuki Widodo said prevention cannot rely only on enforcement, but also requires education and habits that match one’s means so spouses become the main reminder for officials.
