Waymo adds $29.99 monthly robotaxi plan in 3 US cities

Waymo is adding an invite-only subscription called Waymo Premier for riders in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Phoenix, charging $29.99 a month for perks aimed at frequent users. The plan offers prioritized matching, as many as five free cancellations each month and 10% back in loyalty credits, branded as Waymo Cash, on every trip. The new tier gives the Alphabet-owned robotaxi company another way to make money as it pushes to expand, including a planned London launch later this year. The move comes as Alphabet's Other Bets unit, which includes Waymo, posted a first-quarter loss of $2.1 billion, up from $1.22 billion a year earlier, while revenue fell to $411 million from $450 million.
