Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh is weighing a plan to reduce how often the central bank holds scheduled policy meetings, according to a New York Times report cited by Bloomberg on Friday. Warsh raised the idea at this week’s meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee, the report said. The Fed now sets a regular calendar for policy gatherings, making any cut in frequency a significant change in how officials review interest rates and the economy. Bloomberg said such a move would be the biggest procedural change so far under Warsh. A Federal Reserve spokesperson declined to comment.
