Warkopolim cafe in Kebayoran Baru burns, losses at Rp10 million
The blaze was believed to start from an air fryer, and 25 personnel extinguished it in 45 minutes.
Warkopolim cafe on Jalan Melawai X 14-2, Melawai, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, caught fire early Wednesday, with losses estimated at about Rp10 juta. The South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency received a report around 01.00 WIB and deployed six units and 25 personnel. Firefighting began at 01.10 WIB and ended at 01.55 WIB. South Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-Agency chief Asril Rizal said the fire was believed to have started from a spark from a small air fryer that ignited leftover oil on the wall, then spread to the exhaust duct over an area of about 3x2 meters. Employees had tried to put out the fire with an APAR before contacting firefighters.
