VinFast to begin assembling electric motorbikes in Subang in 2027
This year’s sales are still fully imported, while VinFast is already preparing a CKD production plan in Jawa Barat.
VinFast will begin assembling electric motorbikes at its Subang plant in Jawa Barat in 2027 after selling only fully imported or completely built up (CBU) units in Indonesia throughout this year. VinFast Indonesia E-Motocycle Chief Executive Officer Yordan Satriadi said the Subang facility is being prepared for assembly under a completely knocked down (CKD) scheme. The move follows the launch of three VinFast electric motorbike models, Evo, Feliz II, and Viper, in West Jakarta on Saturday. Their on-the-road Jakarta prices are Rp17,5 juta, Rp18,5 juta, and Rp22 juta, respectively, under a battery subscription scheme. VinFast is also targeting corporate fleets and ride-hailing services. Together with V-Green, the company has operated more than 2.000 battery swap stations in Jabodetabek and several major cities on Java.
