Uzbekistan opens against Colombia at Azteca in debut test

Uzbekistan began its 2026 World Cup match against Colombia at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on Thursday morning WIB, in a Group K game that also closes the first round of the tournament's group stage. Fabio Cannavaro's debutants named Abdukodir Khusanov in the starting XI in a 3-4-2-1 formation, with Eldor Shomurodov as captain leading the attack. Nestor Lorenzo's Colombia responded with a 4-2-3-1 setup that put James Rodriguez as captain and attacking midfielder behind Luis Javier Suarez, supported by Luis Diaz on the left. Before this match, another Group K game ended 1-1 between Portugal and Republik Demokratik Kongo.
