What's new: Police say he allegedly stole from five airport shops across two visits, then was caught during a later transit stop.
A 47-year-old American man was arrested at Changi Airport after police linked him to six stolen perfume boxes worth about S$1,409 from five transit-area shops. The alleged thefts took place during two visits to Singapore: four boxes were taken on Nov. 4, 2025, including one worth S$331 in Terminal 3 and three worth a combined S$646 in Terminal 2, police said. He returned on April 24, 2026, for a connecting flight and allegedly took two more boxes worth S$236.90 and S$195.40 before leaving Singapore again. Officers from the Airport Police Division arrested him during a planned operation when he transited through Changi on Sept. 25. He is due to be charged on Oct. 8 with five counts of theft in dwelling.
