US claims Iran opened access to IAEA nuclear sites this week

The inspection could cover 450 kilograms of enriched uranium as part of the 60-day negotiations after the US-Iran MoU.

The United States claimed Iran has agreed to let inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency return to its nuclear sites. US Vice President JD Vance said checks on enriched uranium stockpiles could begin this week, including about 450 kilograms of material. He made the remarks after indirect US-Iran talks in Burgenstock, Switzerland, over the weekend. According to Vance, IAEA access is one of four goals Washington is pursuing in follow-up talks under the two countries' memorandum of understanding. The MoU also covers a halt to fighting on all fronts, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, lifting US sanctions on Iran, and a 60-day deadline to complete a framework for ending the conflict and addressing Iran's nuclear issue.
