Ukraine hits 2 Russian oil refineries in deep drone strikes

Ukraine struck two major oil refineries deep inside Russia overnight, targeting the Bashneft-Novoil plant in Bashkortostan and the Slavneft-Yanos refinery in Yaroslavl, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. He said the attacks were meant to cut oil revenue that helps finance Moscow's war. Yaroslavl Gov. Mikhail Evraev said debris from intercepted drones hit storage tanks at the refinery, sparking a fire and injuring four people. Zelenskyy also said Ukrainian forces hit two military patrol boats and vessels from Russia's shadow fleet in the Black Sea. Russia's Defense Ministry said it shot down hundreds of drones overnight, while its own strikes killed people across Ukraine and knocked out power in Kherson.
