Ukraine drone strikes halted 3 Yandex data centers in 4 days
What's new: Yandex said services including Search, Maps, Taxi and Alice were gradually coming back, while some functions remained offline.
Yandex suspended operations at a third data center in Vladimir after a Ukrainian drone strike, capping four days of attacks that also hit the Russian tech company’s facilities in Sasovo and Kaluga. The company said services were gradually being restored on Sunday, with access returning to Alice, Search, Yandex Maps, Taxi, Mail and other products, though some functions were still unavailable. Yandex had earlier warned the outages disrupted critical infrastructure used to run its AI chatbot, smart-home devices, food ordering and ride-hailing services. The latest strike forced a full stop at the Vladimir site as engineers worked to restore connectivity and recover Yandex Pay.
