UIN Walisongo student named suspect in 40-motorcycle fraud
The university has revoked IM’s student status, while police have seized 23 motorcycles and received 25 victim reports.
A UIN Walisongo Semarang student identified as IM (23) has been named a suspect in the alleged embezzlement of about 40 motorcycles by renting vehicles under the pretext of starting a rental business and failing to return them. Ngaliyan Police arrested IM on 4 June 2026 in Kaliwungu, Kendal Regency. In the case buildup, police said 25 cases have been formally reported and 23 motorcycles have been secured as evidence, while two others are still being traced. The case began after an owner reported renting out a motorcycle for Rp80 ribu per day for 10 days and later learned the vehicle was allegedly pawned. UIN Walisongo then dismissed IM with dishonor after an ethics hearing and campus investigation on 25-28 May 2026.
