Uefa gives Fifa until Nov. 2 to turn over World Cup sale records
Why it matters: The demand sharpens scrutiny of Gianni Infantino weeks before the Nov. 18 deadline to challenge him in Fifa's 2027 election.
Uefa has given Fifa until Nov. 2 to provide documents and written answers about the proposed sale of a 20% stake in World Cup-related commercial rights and a wider set of governance decisions. In a letter to Fifa general secretary Mattias Grafstrom, Uefa general secretary Theodore Theodoridis said key questions remained unanswered after last week's Fifa Council meeting in Zurich. The accompanying eight-page document asks how the Fifa Forward Enterprise plan was developed, why the council was not involved earlier and what safeguards will prevent a repeat. It also seeks answers on issues including the suspended ban for U.S. striker Folarin Balogun, the Fifa Peace Prize and presidential election arrangements.
