Two sons of Menhaj resign from Kemenhaj adviser posts
Kemenhaj is preparing replacements after nepotism concerns over their appointments triggered public criticism and support.
The two sons of Minister of Haji and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, Barbarossa Muhammad Farros and Gibran Muhammad Fawwaz, have officially resigned from their positions as expert staff at the Ministry of Haji and Umrah. Deputy Minister of Haji and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said the resignations had been accepted by ministry leaders. The decision came after their appointments drew public debate. Dahnil said both had begun assisting during the early phase of Badan Penyelenggara Haji, when the agency had just been formed and did not yet have adequate supporting staff. He also said the vacant positions would be filled by others, with the minister responsible for selecting replacements.
