Trump unveils new Air Force One, a gift jet from Qatar

It will fly Trump to the NATO summit in Ankara next month while the White House waits for two new Boeing jets in 2028.

President Donald Trump displayed the new Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews on Friday, a former Qatar government Boeing 747 now serving as a bridge until a new fleet is finished. The jet replaces the light blue Jacqueline Kennedy-era livery with dark blue, white and red stripes, and features a large American flag on the tail. Trump said the aircraft will be used for the NATO summit in Ankara next month and for a flyover during the July 4 celebration. The U.S. government received the jet last year, but the move raised ethics, legality and national security questions because it is valued at about 400 million dollar AS. The U.S. Air Force said security modifications are being made while prioritizing core capabilities, and two new Boeing aircraft are not expected until 2028.
