Trump threatens renewed strikes on Iran if nuclear deal fails
New: Trump says a U.S.-Iran peace signing is planned in Swiss on Friday, with ships in the Strait of Hormuz tariff-free.
President Donald Trump threatened to resume military strikes against Iran if nuclear talks with Tehran fail to produce a final agreement. In an interview with The New York Times, Trump also said a U.S.-Iran peace deal is scheduled to be signed in Swiss on Friday. He said the arrangement would include zero tariffs for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump at the same time criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying he still wants to continue the war. He said Israel “would not survive for two hours” if Iran had nuclear weapons. Several reports also said a ceasefire and the reopening of shipping lanes were part of the Pakistan-mediated negotiation process.
