Trump threatens jail for leaks as missile-stock concerns grow

What's new: Reports cited steep drops in THAAD and Patriot interceptor inventories as the Iran war strained US weapons supplies.

President Donald Trump threatened long prison terms for people he called “leakers” after reports said US weapons stockpiles had been drained by the war with Iran. In a Truth Social post on Wednesday, Trump rejected claims that the United States was running short of munitions and insisted the military still had “massive amounts” while production was ramping up. The dispute followed media reports that shortages of long-range missiles and air-defense interceptors had narrowed Washington’s military options. CNN reported the US had used nearly four-fifths of its THAAD interceptors and about half of its Patriot interceptors since the conflict began. Reuters separately reported that US stocks of ATACMS and PrSM long-range missiles had been exhausted during five months of fighting with Iran.
