Trump targets LeBron over anthem warmups before 76ers opener
What's new: James shrugged off the attack after Thursday's game, calling it a "slow news day at the office."
President Donald Trump attacked LeBron James after video showed the Philadelphia 76ers star moving through warmup motions during the national anthem before Tuesday's season opener against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. In a social media post Thursday, Trump called James a "TOTAL DISGRACE" and demanded an apology. The footage appears to show James making a golf-swing motion and later a shooting motion while teammates stood mostly still. James did not address Trump before Thursday night's home opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but afterward dismissed the uproar as a "slow news day at the office." The two have feuded for years, with James backing Trump's political rivals and repeatedly criticizing him in public.
