Trump super PAC pours $277 million into final Senate ad blitz

Why it matters: The spending targets tight races in Texas, Michigan and Ohio as Republicans try to defend a 53-47 Senate edge.

President Donald Trump’s MAGA Inc super PAC dumped more than $277 million into television and direct-mail ads in the campaign’s final six weeks, intensifying a late push to protect Republican candidates in key Senate races. Federal Election Commission filings show much of the money flowed to Texas, Michigan and Ohio, including through allied super PACs No Going Back and Safety & Affordability. Together, the groups have spent more than $36 million in Texas for Ken Paxton, $30.1 million in Michigan for Mike Rogers and more than $28 million in Ohio for Jon Husted. MAGA Inc has spent more than $300 million on the midterms so far, raised about $450 million this cycle and still held $164 million in cash as of last week.
