Trump says cancel Freedom 250 concerts after artists pull out

Trump said Freedom 250's concert series should be canceled after several artists withdrew, saying they were misled about its politics.

President Donald Trump said the Freedom 250 concert series in Washington should be scrapped after several performers withdrew from the event tied to the US 250th birthday celebration. In posts on Truth Social, Trump called the remaining acts "overpriced" and "boring" and said he was weighing a rally in its place. Freedom 250, created by the Trump administration, says the National Mall event is nonpartisan, but artists including Martina McBride, The Commodores, Young MC and Bret Michaels said they had not agreed to take part in a politically charged program. Freedom 250 later said Trump will headline the opening ceremony on June 24. Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli and Flo Rida were still listed to perform.
