Trump: Putin and Zelenskyy to meet face to face soon
New: Putin invited Zelenskyy to Moscow and promised his safety, while the venue and timing have not been set.
President of the United States Donald Trump said a face-to-face meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be arranged soon. He told reporters aboard Air Force One after discussing the Russia-Ukraine war with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff. If it happens, it would be the first in-person meeting between the two leaders since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. At the same time, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said Putin invited Zelenskyy to Moscow to discuss peace talks and guaranteed his safety. Ushakov also said further talks on a trilateral Russia, Ukraine and United States negotiation in Abu Dhabi still need more discussion.
