Trump pushes out press secretary Katie Zacharia after 5 days
What's next: ABC reported Zacharia is moving to another administration role to be named later.
White House press secretary Katie Zacharia is leaving the job after five days, after President Donald Trump told reporters he urged her to reconsider staying in the role. CNBC reported a White House official confirmed her departure, while ABC News reported Zacharia is transitioning to another administration post that has not yet been named. Zacharia came under heavy criticism after a brief first press briefing on Tuesday and faced mounting scrutiny over her legal credentials, including reports that she never passed a bar exam. Her short tenure came as Trump headed to Georgia to campaign for Republicans with 18 days left before the midterms.
