Trump Media launches paid data service for Truth Social posts
The new feed gives customers faster real-time access, prompting two Democratic senators to push the SEC to investigate.
Trump Media and Technology Group began operating Truth API on Aug. 1, a paid data service that gives clients direct, faster access to posts on Truth Social. The company described the product as a licensed, real-time feed for posts that could move markets. The @realDonaldTrump account is the largest on the platform, with about 13 million followers, and President Donald Trump has often used Truth Social to preview policy decisions, including on the war with Iran. The launch quickly drew political scrutiny. Democratic senators Adam Schiff and Elizabeth Warren asked the Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate whether the service breaks the law and opens the door to abuse of the presidency for personal gain. The SEC declined to comment to CNBC.
