Trump claims peace dialogue continues, Iran denies talks

After three days without attacks, Teheran says it has only received messages through mediators, not direct talks with the US.

President Donald Trump said diplomatic channels with Iran remain open and could produce an agreement to end the conflict. His remarks came after the United States and Iran halted reciprocal attacks for three straight days since Friday, 24 July. Iran, however, denied that it is in talks with Washington. Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Teheran is not involved in any negotiations with the US, though mediators may be passing along messages from the American side. Trump had earlier said Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were also involved in contacts with Iran, but he acknowledged a peace deal remained far off.
