Trump hosts IndyCar showcase at White House before DC race
What's next: The Freedom 250 street race is set for Aug. 22-23 on a course around the National Mall and Pennsylvania Avenue.
President Donald Trump hosted IndyCar drivers and team officials at the White House on Monday for a showcase promoting next month's Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C. An IndyCar rolled down Pennsylvania Avenue and a pit crew changed all four tires in seconds outside the executive mansion. Trump appeared with drivers Alex Palou, Felix Rosenqvist and David Malukas, along with Roger Penske and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. Organizers say the Aug. 22-23 event will be the first IndyCar race in the capital, with a roughly 1.7-mile street course looping near the National Mall, the National Archives and the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum.
