Trump and Burnham plan meeting after first call on trade, Hormuz

President Donald Trump and new British Prime Minister Andy Burnham spoke for the first time on July 20 and agreed to meet in the near future, as London and Washington try to steady ties after strains under Burnham’s predecessor. Trump described the call as very good and said they discussed trade, North Sea oil and demining the Strait of Hormuz. Downing Street said Burnham stressed Britain’s commitment to protecting shipping through the waterway to support supply chains and lower costs. Burnham also invited Trump to visit Manchester after congratulating him on the World Cup tournament.
