Fuel tanker hits KKN pickup in Tanah Bumbu, 7 dead
Pertamina Patra Niaga said the vehicle was not part of its operational fleet and was not recorded serving a terminal.
A deadly crash occurred on the bypass road in Gunung Raya village, Mantewe district, Tanah Bumbu regency, South Kalimantan, on Saturday (1/8) at about 12:00 Wita. A fuel tanker traveling from Banjarbaru to Batulicin lost control and struck a pickup truck carrying KKN students bound for the Sungai Alut tourist area. Mantewe police chief AKP Kusnin said there were eight victims in all; seven people died, including the tanker driver, identified by his initials MI, and one survivor, identified as MFH, was referred to Rumah Sakit Marina. On Sunday (2/8), PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan said the vehicle involved was not registered as a Pertamina operational fleet vehicle and was not recorded as carrying out service activities at the terminal.
