Truck tears through Wichita youth soccer game, killing 2 and injuring 10

A truck plowed into a youth soccer game at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas, on Saturday afternoon, killing a 6-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man and sending 10 others to the hospital with traumatic injuries. Wichita police said the injured included five adults and five children ages 5 to 9; their injuries ranged from minor to severe, but none appeared life-threatening. Officers took the 34-year-old woman who was driving the truck into custody and said she was cooperating with investigators. Police said the driver had a child playing at the complex, though not on the field struck by the vehicle, and that two juveniles were passengers in the truck. Authorities said calls began coming in at 3:25 p.m. and that investigators know what happened but are still trying to determine why.
