Tottenham beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge as Palmer sees red

What's new: Spurs earned only their second win at Chelsea in 36 years and sealed it with an own goal and Mathys Tel's late strike.

Tottenham beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, ending a long run of poor results in west London as Cole Palmer was sent off late for the hosts. Spurs took the lead through an own goal by goalkeeper Mike Penders, who punched a corner into his own net on his full Premier League debut. Mathys Tel added the second goal late on after Palmer's dismissal left Chelsea with 10 men. The result was Tottenham's first win at Stamford Bridge since 2018 and only their second there in 36 years. Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso said Palmer must learn from the red card, while also backing Penders after the costly error.
