TNI Detains Lt. Col. Arman After Cijantung House Used for Online Gambling
Also seized in the Oct. 4 raid were 11 civilian operators, 32 computers, 14 cellphones and 9 ID cards.
Military police detained Lt. Col. (Inf) Arman after a service residence in the Army Housing Complex in Cijantung, East Jakarta, was allegedly used as an online gambling operations base. TNI spokesman Mayjen Muhammad Nas said Arman was being held at Pomdam Jaya for questioning, but his legal status has not been explained. The case came to light after residents reported suspicious activity on Sunday, 4 October. Personnel from Kodim 0505/Jakarta Timur and local territorial units then visited the site and secured 11 people suspected of operating it; all were civilians, consisting of six men and five women. Officers seized 32 computers, 14 cellphones and nine ID cards from the location. TNI AD said it would take action if any soldiers were proven to have been involved or provided facilities.
