TNI Denies Bulldozing SDN Wolomoni for Kopdes in Ende
TNI said the excavator only hit a corner post while maneuvering to the cooperative site behind the school, not the school itself.
Mabes TNI denied a viral video narrative claiming officers cleared SDN Wolomoni in Niawula Village, Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, for construction of Koperasi Desa Merah Putih. TNI Information Center head Brig. Gen. Muhammad Nas said the cooperative is being built behind the school area, not in place of the school. He said the access to the site is narrow, so heavy equipment had to pass through the school grounds. While maneuvering, the excavator hit one of the posts at the corner of the building. Nas said Babinsa, the Dandim, school officials, and the local government then coordinated to temporarily move the post and later repair it. He also said residents' anger in the video was triggered by heavy equipment hitting a branch of a durian tree belonging to a resident. The incident was said to have occurred on Saturday, 6 June 2026.
