TNI AU sends 4 T-50i fighter jets to Australia for Pitch Black 2026
TNI AU also deploys 1 C-130 Hercules as the exercise runs from 20 July to 7 August, featuring joint combat maneuver scenarios.
TNI Angkatan Udara is sending four T-50i Golden Eagle fighter aircraft to Australia to take part in the multinational Pitch Black 2026 exercise. The four jets are scheduled to depart from Kupang on Thursday, 16 July, after transiting at Lanud El Tari. In addition to the fighter aircraft, TNI AU is also deploying one C-130 Hercules transport aircraft to carry support personnel and logistics. Based on an official release from the Pemerintah Australia, the exercise will be held from 20 July to 7 August 2026. Lanud El Tari Commander Marsma TNI Somad said Indonesia's participation is intended to strengthen defense cooperation and improve joint capabilities among the air forces of participating countries. TNI AU pilots will undergo combat maneuver scenarios and joint tactical operations during the exercise.
