TNI AD says Jogja Marathon incident stemmed from lost BIB
TNI AD said the aide was an official entrant; organizers stopped him on the course because his bib was not visible.
TNI AD said the incident involving Danrem 072/Pamungkas Brigjen Yuniar Dwi Hantono at the Mandiri Jogja Marathon 2026 was triggered by his aide's race number, or BIB, coming loose on the course. Video of the tense exchange went viral after marshals stopped Yuniar's aide, who had entered the race route in the Candi Prambanan area of Sleman on Sunday, 21 June 2026. According to explanations from Korem 072/Pamungkas and the TNI AD Information Service, Yuniar, his wife, child and aide were all officially registered participants and held four general tickets. The aide was then stopped while running and recording Yuniar. After the incident, the organizers, event organizer and Danrem 072/Pamungkas communicated directly and said the technical issue on the ground had been resolved.
