Tito seeks approval for 4 Sumatera disaster rehab funds
Total program needs through 2028 reach Rp100,1 triliun, while Rp31,1 triliun has already been disbursed to 7 ministries and agencies.
Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian asked for faster approval of four rehabilitation and reconstruction budget proposals after the Sumatera disaster, following a meeting with Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa in Jakarta on Monday (27/7). The four pending items are for Kementerian Pertanian, Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan, Kementerian Agama, and Kementerian UMKM, covering recovery for rice fields and plantations, fishponds, pesantren and houses of worship, and affected community businesses. Tito said the funding need for the Sumatera rehab-recon program through 2028 reaches Rp100,1 triliun. The government has also sent an additional Rp10,6 triliun in regional transfers to Aceh, Sumatera Utara, and Sumatera Barat. For 2026, allocations for 32 ministries and agencies total more than Rp39 triliun, with about Rp31,1 triliun already disbursed to seven institutions.
