Thousands from 16 villages join Lembang Street Carnival 2026
The downtown Lembang parade also promotes local culture, tourism, agriculture, livestock and the region's key commodities.
Thousands of residents from 16 villages in Lembang District filled central Lembang, West Bandung Regency, West Java, on Thursday (13/8) for the Lembang Street Carnival 2026 to mark the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. Participants included students, village representatives, schools, agencies, community groups and members of the public, who performed in a range of costumes, arts displays and processions, including ogoh-ogoh. Beyond the Independence Day celebration and a space for public expression, the annual carnival is also meant to introduce the distinctive character of each village. Among the attractions promoted are local culture, tourism, agriculture, livestock and Lembang's leading commodities.
