Defendant in Indramayu family murder case faces death penalty

Public prosecutors sought the death penalty for Ririn Rifanto, also known as Irin, in a further hearing in the Indramayu District Court on Thursday (18/6/2026) in the case of the murder of one family. Another defendant, Priyo Bagus Setiawan, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for being deemed to have assisted the crime. Prosecutors said Ririn was proven to have committed the premeditated killings of H Sahroni, Budi Awaludin, Euis Juwita Sari, and Ratu Khairunnisa. In the demand read out by Eko Supramurbada, prosecutors said there were no mitigating factors for Ririn. Aggravating factors included the fact that the victims came from one family, that the act caused deep suffering, severed the lineage of Budi Awaludin's family, and was considered to have removed evidence, obscured the facts at trial, and made the case harder to prove.
