Israeli fire in Hebron kills 7-month-old baby
The Israeli military said the victims were uninvolved civilians and that the Tel Rumeida incident is under review.
A seven-month-old Palestinian baby, Sam Fahd Abu Haikal, died after Israeli troops fired at his family’s car in the Tel Rumeida area of Hebron, in the West Bank, on Friday (5/6). The Palestinian Health Ministry said Sam was taken to hospital with severe wounds, while his father and mother were moderately injured. According to WAFA, the family was on its way to a relative’s home in central Hebron. The Israel Defense Forces said its soldier fired one shot because the car was believed to be moving toward them during an operation. An initial review, the IDF said, found that the three people hit were uninvolved civilians, and the case is now under further review.
