Tate brothers face US extradition fight over new UK sex-crime charges

What's new: Andrew Tate now faces 42 UK charges and Tristan Tate 17, tied to seven alleged victims in a Bedfordshire case.

Andrew and Tristan Tate appeared in federal court in Miami on Monday as the United States opened extradition proceedings to send them to Britain over expanded criminal charges. UK prosecutors added seven rape counts, three trafficking counts, three assault counts and 19 charges tied to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography against Andrew Tate. Tristan Tate faces two rape counts, one sexual assault count and three trafficking counts. Prosecutors said the alleged offenses span July 2010 to August 2017 and involve seven alleged victims. The brothers, who deny the allegations, have been based in Romania, where they are also under criminal investigation. Bedfordshire Police previously secured European arrest warrants to return them from Romania once those proceedings end.
