Suspected MBG poisoning in Cirebon halts supplier SPPG
Nearly 100 students from kindergarten through elementary school are affected, with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and shortness of breath.
Dozens to nearly 100 students in Kalijaga, Harjamukti District, Cirebon City, were suspected of food poisoning after eating Makan Bergizi Gratis at school on Tuesday (20/10/2026). The children, from kindergarten through elementary school, were reported to have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and shortness of breath, and some were taken by their parents to RS Siloam Putera Bahagia Cirebon. One parent, Donny Armando, said his child began vomiting and having diarrhea several hours after eating the MBG menu, including soup with quail eggs; the child said the vegetables smelled bad. Yulian Septa Pratama, head of the Cirebon Office of Nutrition Fulfillment Services, said the Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi supplying food to the area had been temporarily stopped while victims were being counted and medical treatment was underway.
