North Sumatra draws 936 prizes for compliant vehicle taxpayers
The program replaces tax amnesty with incentives, including an umrah pilgrimage and one car as the grand prize in December 2026.
The North Sumatra provincial government, through the Regional Revenue Agency, drew 936 prizes in the Gebyar Pajak Sumut 2026 program for vehicle taxpayers who paid on time in the first quarter. The drawing was held in Medan on Friday. Prizes include motor vehicles, laptops, refrigerators, bicycles and other awards. Bapenda Sumut head Sutan Tolang Lubis said the program is a new way to encourage regional tax compliance by offering rewards, not just relying on tax amnesty. Civil servants in the North Sumatra provincial government, especially Bapenda employees, are barred from winning. Winners' license plate numbers can be checked on the program's official website, while vehicle data will be verified before prizes are handed over. The next drawings are scheduled for July, October and December 2026.
