Foreign Minister Sugiono and MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani are scheduled to leave for Iran on Thursday night to attend final respects for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The Foreign Ministry said the visit was made at the invitation of the Iranian government and also carries a bilateral Indonesia-Iran agenda. Indonesia is also sending PBNU Chairman Yahya Cholil Staquf and PP Muhammadiyah Chairman Haedar Nashir with the delegation. In Tehran, Sugiono is scheduled to meet Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while Muzani will meet Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. The ministry said it remains in coordination with Iranian authorities and the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran to ensure the delegation's travel stays on schedule amid the funeral arrangements for Khamenei.
