StarDream drops cruise fuel surcharges from Singapore on June 26
What's new: The operator also cut the fee by half for sailings from Taiwan and Hong Kong after fuel prices stabilized.
StarDream Cruises will waive fuel surcharges for passengers sailing from Singapore and Malaysia on Genting Dream, Star Navigator and Star Voyager departures from June 26, reversing a fee it introduced in March as fuel costs rose during the Middle East conflict. The company said guests departing from Taiwan and Hong Kong will instead pay reduced surcharges, with the Hong Kong fee previously set at HK$200 and the Taiwan charge at NT$600. In Singapore, the surcharge had been $15 a person for each night on some sailings and applied to new bookings made on or after March 20 for travelers age 2 and older. StarDream said the change reflects improving fuel market conditions.
