SPPG required to buy eggs from farmers at Rp26,500 per kg

The rule was signed after farmers protested, with direct purchases from producers aimed at stopping egg prices from falling.

Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman has issued technical guidelines requiring Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi to absorb eggs from farmers at a reference price of Rp26,500 per kilogram. The rule applies nationwide and was signed after farmers staged protests over the plunge in egg prices at the producer level. The government also directed that purchases be made directly from farmers to SPPG, without a long distribution chain. According to Amran, the absorption problem was seen in Surabaya, where Makan Bergizi Gratis kitchens had not yet bought eggs at the set price. The policy refers to BGN Circular Letter No. 14 of 2026 dated Aug. 12, 2026, which prioritizes poultry product purchases from micro, small and medium farmers, cooperatives, and local businesses.
