SMAN 6 student dies after motorcycle snags cable in South Jakarta

Neisha Amalia Evrian Putri, a 16-year-old 10th-grade student at SMAN 6 Jakarta, died after the motorcycle she was riding on snagged a dangling cable on Jalan Lauser, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Thursday (18/6) around 05.30 WIB. She fell and was then run over by a school bus passing by. Kebayoran Baru subdistrict chief Rachmat Mulyadi said the subdistrict does not know who owns the cable. He said the cable was a fiber-optic line above a road crossing that sagged and then snapped, hanging over the roadway. Police are now investigating, while the school bus has been secured by Unit Laka Lantas Polres Metro Jakarta Selatan. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung ordered the relevant agencies to help the victim's family and said the legal process would be left to law enforcement.
