SMA Unggul Garuda Bulungan targeted to drive Kaltara talent
The school is one of four new SMA Unggul Garuda schools, with officials expecting spillover effects for UMKM, logistics and nearby schools.
The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology is targeting SMA Unggul Garuda Bulungan in Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan, to become a driver of human capital development in areas supporting the Nusantara Capital City. At an open house for Sekolah Garuda, Director of Science and Technology Talent Development Adi Nuryanto said the school is expected to generate a broad impact for local communities, from the economy to education. He said the school could spur local UMKM, the food supply chain, and supporting services, while also becoming a source of inspiration for nearby schools through collaboration and community service. SMA Unggul Garuda Bulungan is one of four new SMA Unggul Garuda schools built by the central government, along with schools in East Belitung, South Konawe and South Central Timor, while 47 other locations are included in the transformation program.
