Singapore venue halts outdoor music events after noise complaints

What's next: Ice Cream Sundays said it is seeking alternative venues for future events in 2027 after losing access to Tanjong Pagar Distripark.

Tanjong Pagar Distripark has temporarily paused outdoor music events after complaints about noise affecting nearby residents, a move that will sideline shows at one of Singapore’s better-known arts venues. The venue’s management, Mapletree, said licensees and tenants would be asked to stop events that could disturb the surrounding community. Ice Cream Sundays, which has staged electronic music events there for more than three years, said it was told of the restrictions in an Oct. 16 email following the Oct. 3 Rainbow Disco Club Singapore festival. The collective said it had moved one event farther from homes and submitted decibel readings every two hours as part of mitigation efforts. It said it is now looking for other venues for 2027.
