Singapore to upgrade 6 bus interchanges from 2027

What's new: The works add wheelchair-accessible toilets, family washrooms, more seating and energy-efficient lighting and ventilation.

Singapore will begin upgrading six bus interchanges from 2027, expanding a broader push to modernize aging public transport facilities. The Land Transport Authority said Bishan, Bukit Batok, Bukit Merah, Eunos, Punggol and Tampines will be upgraded in phases to limit disruption to bus services. Planned improvements include new or improved lighting, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, along with more seating, priority queue zones, wheelchair-accessible toilets, baby care or family washrooms, tactile guided paths and Braille signs on handrails. Passenger service offices and staff lounges will also be refurbished. LTA said works at seven other interchanges that started in August 2024 remain on track for completion next year.
